He made a break from Tom Cringle near the summit of the hill, and was not to be caught on the descent finishing about 50 secs clear.
Third place went to Peter Bradley who managed to hold off the master of descenders Ian Gale - Gale took the Vet 40 prize.
First lady was Sarah Curphey continuing her line of wins on the Manx fells and improving with every race, Rose Hooten was second once again running well with Lorraine Stigant third.
