Triumphs no longer in production
Smiths Racing is switching to Yamaha for its Supersport machines for the 2020 road racing season.
The team has made the decision to move away from the Triumph ones which have served it so well for the last few years because it has become too difficult to source parts for the ageing bikes.
The R6 is considered to be much more up-to-date, and has been a consistent winner in 600cc racing worldwide.
Last year, Peter Hickman claimed one Supersport win at the TT and a hat-trick of victories in the class at the Ulster Grand Prix.
