IOMBSA also paying tribute following passing of President
The Isle of Man's Darryl Hill has bowed out of the 2023 IBSF World Championships men's singles event in Doha at the last-16 stage.
Having progressed past the group stage earlier this week and the Round-of-32, Hill was beaten on Wednesday evening by Qatar's Ali Al Obaidli 5-1 across the six-frame contest.
Hill got off to the perfect start taking the first frame 74-24 but Al Obaidli to sweep to victory in the following five frames, including breaks of 61 and 70 in frames two and three respectively.
The campaign isn't over though for Hill and his Isle of Man teammate, Dollin Mercer, who will be taking part in the team event from later today (9 November).
They face a challenging section which will include matches against India, China and Qatar 3 - the first of those will be against China at 4pm.
Separately, the Isle of Man Billiards & Snooker Association is paying tribute after announcing the death of the organisation's President, Roy Gelling yesterday (8 November).
The IOMBSA says it's thoughts are with Mr Gelling's family and friends at this time.
