John McGuinness' challenge for the 2008 Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship will have to wait another two weeks before it starts in anger as heavy snowfall at Brands Hatch resulted in the opening round being postponed.
Although the weather had steadily worsened over the course of the three days, free practice and qualifying had taken place.
But the paddock awoke on Sunday morning to steady snow showers, which got heavier as the morning progressed and organisers were left with no option other than to cancel the day's events.
Everyone was in complete agreement with the decision as there was no way the circuit could host any racing but it left McGuinness (pictured) especially frustrated as he'd been in superb form in final qualifying, putting his Padgett's Racing CBR600 Honda in third place on the grid.
The opening round of the British Supersport Championship will now take place in two weeks time at Thruxton, Hampshire on Sunday April 20th.
