St Johns face relegation from Premier League

Only win over champs Corinthians will keep chances alive

Football - St Johns will be relegated from the Canada Life Premier League unless they beat newly-crowned champions Corinthians at Mullen-e-Cloie on Saturday afternoon.

They have only won 3 times during the campaign against Douglas Royal, Peel and Marown.

Their heaviest defeat came in the corresponding fixture against Corinthians at Ballafletcher when they were thrashed 10-1.

That was by far their worst defeat of the season and they have been competitive in most matches they have played.

Douglas Athletic have already been relegated to Division Two.

The other top flight games are:-

Ayre v St Georges

Old Boys v Laxey

Ramsey v Peel

St Mary's v Rushen

Who joins Division Two champions Union Mills in being promoted to the Premier League will have to wait until mid-week.

Second placed Ramsey Youth Centre are without a game and don't play their final game against bottom side Pulrose until next Saturday.

A win in that fixture should be good enough, even if third placed Onchan win their remaining 3 matches.

Onchan can close the gap to 3 points with victory at home to Braddan.
