Duo remain in world championship contention after round three
It was another strong showing from former Island resident Harry Payne and passenger Kevin Rousseau in the latest round of the FIM Sidecar World Championship at the weekend.
Round three of the series took competitors to Most in the Czech Republic from 21-23 June with the crew securing second spot on the grid after the two qualifying sessions.
In the opening ten-lap sprint race on Saturday the Steinhausen Racing duo finished second behind Marcus Schlosser and Luka Schmidt who'd qualified on pole.
It was the same result in the main 17-lap race the following day with Payne and Rousseau taking P2 behind Schlosser and Schmidt by just 0.26 seconds.
Having led the championship after the opening two rounds, these latest results see Payne and Rousseau drop into second on 115 points with Schlosser and Schmidt moving to the top on 122.
Rounding out the top three at this stage are Sam and Tom Christie on 97 points with defending champions Todd Ellis and Emanneulle Clement on 90 points back in fourth.
The next round of the championship will be in Assen in the Netherlands from 16-18 August.
