Stan Cross wins skeet doubles
Stan Cross edged an exciting Skeet Doubles Championship at Meary Veg in Santon on Sunday.
He held off the challenge of 22 other competitors in misty, damp and, at times, very wet conditions.
Cross hit 25 in his final round to take the honours, just ahead of Alan Wade, John Moore and Rachael Bowen Matthews, who notched 91 points in a three-way tie for second place.
In equal fifth place on 90 points were Dave Corlett and Giulio Fabrizio, with colt shooter, 12-year-old Jake Brew, hitting 89 to claim a fine seventh place.
The event was sponsored by Stan and Michael Cross.
Next week is the Crowe Morgan English skeet GP over 125 targets with a top prize of £100, plus class prizes.
The following week is the annual Hospice Shoot. You can register by contacting Peter Kelly on 461203.
