Machinery has been removed from TT roster for next year
Supertwin machines will remain eligible to compete on at the North West 200 in 2027.
Organisers of the Northern Ireland meeting have confirmed Supertwins will take part alongside Sportbike-spec machinery for the meeting on the 'Triangle' circuit from 10-15 May next year.
Furthermore, officials say Supertwins and Sportbikes will start separately within both races and there will be separate podiums and prize funds for both classes.
The move is in contrast to the 2027 Isle of Man TT Races a few weeks later where it has already been announced that Supertwins have been removed from the roster with a switch to full Sportbike regulations going forward.
NW200 Race Director, Mervyn White, says: "Not everyone will necessarily have sufficient time to produce and develop new Sportbike-spec machinery for 2027.
"With so many teams and riders having invested a great deal of time and money in developing Supertwin machinery over many seasons, we felt it was only fair that they should continue to have the opportunity to compete on the Triangle course this year.’
"After consultation with a number of competitors and teams, it is felt that this joint format will provide the fairest opportunity for everyone involved and will ensure full grids across both races."
Full details on regulations for all race classes at the 2027 North West 200 will be published in due course.
