Former Island player into last-16 of men's singles tournament
Billy Harris produced a spirited comeback to open his account at the Jinan Open on the ATP Challenger Tour in China this week.
The former Albany and Castletown competitor came from a set down to beat Japan's Yusuke Watanuki in three sets (1-6, 6-3, 6-2) in the early hours of Tuesday morning (7 October).
As a result, Harris progresses to the Round-of-16 of the men's singles tournament and will face Australian, Bernard Tomic in the next phase tomorrow (9 October).
It's been a quick turnaround for the former Island athlete - who's now ranked 133rd in the ATP world standings - having taken part in the men's singles qualifying stage of the Shanghai Open at the end of September.
