Isle of Man player loses in straight sets
Isle of Man tennis star Billy Harris was beaten in the first qualifying round of the Australian Open today (13 January).
Matched up against Luxembourg's unseeded Chris Rodesch, the world number 208 won in straight sets (6-4, 6-3).
Harris' exit from Melbourne means he won't be able to better his best ever finish at the Grand Slam to make the first round proper.
It's the first time the world number 121 has been knocked out in the opening qualifying round since making his debut at the open in 2024.
