Thriller for Michael who move five clear

It’s advantage Michael in JCK Division Two.

They won a seven goal thriller at Ayre United on Saturday to extend their lead at the summit.

After trailing 3-1 at one stage – Jason Craine (two) and an own goal for the Tangerines – they produced an impressive second half fightback, with Anthony Corkhill, Paul Corlett and Peter Fisher among their goals.

That moved them five points clear after their nearest rivals were both held in tough away fixtures.

Michael Nixon was the Ramsey Youth Centre scorer as they drew 1-1 at Douglas Royal, whose marksman was Paul Whitley.

Colby also had to settle for a share of the spoils in an exciting game at Foxdale.

But they will be the happier side after playing more than an hour with 10 men following the controversial dismissal of Bobby Kneale.

Chris McKenna, Harry Best and Adam Fretwell were on target for Colby.

Jack Smith and Craig Gelling (two) found the net for Foxdale.

Braddan ended the fine run of a resurgent Ronaldsway.

Dean Corlett, Michael Shimmin, Peter Dunn, two penalties from Mike Hegarty and an own goal fired them to a 6-1 win over the Rockets.

Craig Cowin, Joey Joyce and an own goal gave Pulrose United a lift with a 3-2 success over Malew, although they stay bottom.

Malew replied through Charlie Delborgen and an own goal.

Douglas Athletic ended their bad run with a 3-1 home success over Onchan, whose goal was scored by debutant Kyle Sum.
