
The Isle of Man's proposed Institute for Sports Excellence could only do so much for our elite athletes, according to the Performance Co-ordinator for the Manx Sports Aid Foundation, which suggested the facility should be built.
Chris Quine (pictured) says the institute would help organise a support network for the Island's top sportsmen and women.
However, he admits the Island can only go so far in nurturing talent, such as world champion cyclist Mark Cavendish:
