James Toseland came seventh in Sunday's Moto GP race in Estoril, Portugal.
The Ramsey resident was left thinking what might've been, believing he was too tentative in the damp opening laps.
A brief rain shower made the track treacherous in the early stages of the race and Toseland fell from a starting position of sixth to 10th, before hauling his machine back up the field to take seventh by the chequered flag.
It was Toseland's first race at Estoril and speaking afterwards he said considering this, it was encouraging to qualify on the second row and be fifth in the championship.
