Ravens targeting three straight wins for first time this season

A tough away test awaits FC Isle of Man this weekend as they look to make it three consecutive victories for the first time this season.

The Ravens travel to take on Prestwich Heys in the NWCFL Premier Division at 2pm tomorrow (25 February) off the back of big wins over Irlam and Ashton Athletic.

However, the Island side's opponents this weekend sit in a strong seventh in the division currently and earned a commanding 3-0 win over FC Isle of Man at The Bowl back in September.

Ravens' interim manager, Paul Jones, insists his side are looking forward to the challenge of playing one of the league's in-form sides:

Going into this weekend, FC Isle of Man's latest two results are the first time the team has managed back-to-back wins since late November/early December.

The Ravens sit 19th in the NWCFL Premier Division on 32 points, currently seven points clear of the relegation zone.

Over the course of the season so far, the Ravens have a marginally better record away from home with seven wins from 20 in all competitions (35 per cent win rate) compared to five wins from 16 on Manx soil (31.25 per cent win rate).

Furthermore, the Island side - despite the difficult start to 2023 - have only failed to score once since the turn of the year in a 3-0 home defeat to title-chasing Vauxhall Motors.

However, it'll be a tough ask for more points on Saturday as the Ravens travel to face a Prestwich Heys side who have one of the strongest form records in the league currently.

The Lancashire outfit have four wins from their last six and sit in a lofty seventh in the NWCFL Premier Division on 54 points.

What's more, Prestwich Heys have also made their home at Adie Moran Park something of a fortress during this season so far - they've only lost twice in 19 games on home turf to this point.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Paul Jones makes minimal changes to his squad which has produced results over the last two weeks.

There's one change to the side which beat Ashton Athletic last week which sees striker Tom Creer replaced by club captain, Frank Jones, who returns after a one-game absence through injury.

Furo Davies continues his suspension from the red card he picked up two weeks ago.
