Triathlon: Andrew and Clara Isaac defend sprint titles

Husband and wife pairing take wins for third year running

Andrew and Clara Isaac have successfully defended their Open and Female titles during the 2026 Isle of Man Sprint Triathlon.

In what was the opening fixture of this year's local triathlon campaign in Ramsey on Sunday (10 May), Andrew charged to victory in the Open and overall race with the only sub one-hour time of 59 minutes and 51 seconds.

Meanwhile, Clara secured a winning time in the women's field of one hour, seven minutes and 32 seconds, a performance which also saw her finish ninth overall.

It's the third year in a row that the husband and wife pairing have won the respective events.

Elsewhere in the Open race, Neil Kelly finished in second place, not far behind Andrew Isaac with a time of one hour and 12 seconds and completing the Open top three was Cameron Leslie who successfully completed the course in one hour and 53 seconds.

The podium for the Female event was completed by Amber Carridge (one hour, 13 minutes and 17 seconds) and Sophie Acton (one hour, 15 minutes and 39 seconds) who came home second and third respectively.

Topping the team standings on the day was NSC (58 minutes and 58 seconds), followed by The Lactate Thresholders (one hour, four minutes and 31 seconds) and J&J in third (one hour, seven minutes and 40 seconds)

The next scheduled meeting on the Manx Tri Club calendar will be the Patrick Crookall Manx Middle Distance on Sunday, 14 June.
