Triathlon: Read and Isaac take honours in Manx Middle Distance

Both take impressive wins during meeting in Ramsey

James Read and Clara Isaac have claimed the top honours in the Patrick Crookall Manx Middle Distance Triathlon.

During the meeting in and around Mooragh Park in Ramsey on Sunday, 14 June, Read stormed to the men's and overall victory in a time of four hours, 42 minutes and 36 seconds.

Meanwhile, Isaac continued her impressive run of form in Isle of Man triathlon events to win the women's race and cross the line third overall in four hours, 57 minutes and two seconds.

Elsewhere, completing the men's podium behind Read was Kristan King in second (four hours, 51 minutes and 14 seconds) whilst just under 16 minutes further back was Gareth Gawne (five hours, seven minutes and 12 seconds).

In the women's event, Isaac's flying pace at the front meant she had the race done and dusted more than 36 minutes ahead of the second-placed female finisher, Amber Carridge (five hours, 33 minutes and 20 seconds).

Rounding out the women's top three and just over two minutes behind Carridge was Carly Craig who clocked five hours, 35 minutes and 26 seconds.

Separately, the top spot in the team rankings went to Nearly The NSC (four hours, 23 minutes and 58 seconds); second in the team standings was Woman Up (four hours, 26 minutes and 28 seconds) whilst third place went to Glen Mona C Team (five hours, 22 minutes and 41 seconds).

The next and final event on this year's Isle of Man triathlon calendar will be the Billboards.im IOM Triathlon Championships on Sunday, 6 September.
