Club inviting submissions for assessments next week
Island athletes are being invited to put themselves forward to be considered for the Isle of Man's 2027 Island Games triathlon squad.
Manx Tri Club will be holding preliminary trials on Wednesday, 14 January for both the Ladies and Men's/Open categories.
It will consist of a short swim and run performance assessment which will take place at the NSC in Douglas.
Manx Tri Club says it is open to anyone aged 14 and over as of 31 December, 2025 with no previous triathlon experience required.
Anyone interested in getting involved is asked to contact russellcollister@gmail.com or lesleygray71@icloud.com for further details.
As of yesterday (7 January), the club adds around 20 have already declared an interest.
During the most recent Island Games in Orkney in July last year, the Isle of Man fielded ten competitors - six male and four female - with the squad earning one medal as Clara Isaac secured individual bronze in the women's race.
The 2027 games are due to be held in the Faroe Islands from 3-9 July that year.
