TT 2025: Hodson teaming up with SMT Racing for third year

He'll campaign ex-Michael Dunlop machine in 1000cc classes

Rider Rob Hodson will contest the Isle of Man TT Races with the SMT Racing squad for a third successive year.

The Wigan man plans to take on all of the solo classes on the Snaefell Mountain Course in 2025.

Among his arsenal will be an ex-Michael Dunlop Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP for the 1000cc races.

Ahead of the racing fortnight, Hodson's outlined his plans to challenge for top-ten finishes across the boards as well as a possible Supertwin podium.

Outside of the 'big bike' categories, The 38-year-old will line up in the Supersport races on Yamaha R6 machinery whilst he'll campaign the Supertwins on a Paton S1-R.

He says: "I’m also looking forward to having my first TT on a full-blown Superbike thanks to the team purchasing the bike from Hawk Racing. We ran it at the Macau Grand Prix in November, so I already have a few miles under our belt.

“We’ve a good set up across the classes and I’ll be aiming to get back in amongst the top ten and 130mph+ laps in the big bike races.

"Whilst running four bikes this year will bring its own challenges, if I can make progress on them all, we’ll have another good TT so that’s the clear aim.”

Last year Hodson managed one top-ten finish, taking seventh spot in the Supertwin TT Race 2.

His best finish in the 1000cc classes of 11th came in the Senior TT whilst 13th was his best Supersport in the second race of the class in 2024.
