'Manx Missile' took part in his final race earlier this month
Tributes have been made in Tynwald to the career of Sir Mark Cavendish following the legendary cyclists' racing retirement this month.
Among those is Education, Sport & Culture Minister Daphne Caine who paid homage whilst outlining her department's plan for 2024/25.
Back on Sunday, 10 November Cavendish took part in his last ever race at the Tour de France Prudential Singapore Criterium which he went on to win.
2024 has been another historic year for the 39-year-old as he claimed an unprecedented 35th stage win at the Tour de France in July and received a knighthood in this year's King's Birthday Honours List.
In August a special homecoming event was held at the NSC in Douglas to celebrate his achievements - on the same day it was announced the raceway at the venue would be renamed the Sir Mark Cavendish Raceway.
At this week's Tynwald sitting, Mrs Caine also gave an update as to where they stand with renaming the track in the cyclist's honour:
