A brilliant team performance from Vagabonds B gave them a 25-7 win against Manx Shield Champions Southern Nomads.
It now looks likely the Shield will be removed from its semi-permanent home in Port Erin.
Tries from Chris Neil, Greg Whyte, Matt Rockwell and Mark Allix, plus a conversion and a penalty from Johnny Beckley, earned Vagas the win.
Nomads’ consolation score came from Gerard Landels and was converted by Will Cain.
Douglas B kept themselves in the hunt for the Shield with a 47-0 defeat of Ramsey B at Mooragh Park.
Birthday boy Aaron Mason, Tom Anderson, Jack Fallon, Gareth Hooson-Owen and Dayle Collister all crossed for first half tries with Like Hyland converting all of them to seal a 35-0 half-time lead.
In the second half, Douglas added tries from Seb Jeanneau and like Hyland to close out the game.
In the final game of the afternoon, Western Vikings picked up their third win of the season beating Emerging Nomads 8-7 in a tight match at QEII.
