Vagabonds B took the honours in the opening game of the Shimmin Wilson Manx Trophy, beating near neighbours Douglas B 15-13.
Vagas led 15-0 at half-time with two tries from Kym Tomlinson and one from Kevin Birchall giving them the advantage in tricky conditions.
With the wind behind them in the second half, Douglas crept back into the game.
A penalty from Luke Hyland got them on the board.
Callum Randle then bagged a try which Hyland converted to get it to 15-10.
A second Hyland penalty reduced the deficit to just two points before Douglas were beaten by the clock in a tense finish.
