Vagabonds creaked a little on the road at Port Sunlight but eventually came out 28-24 winners in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two after trailing for much of the match.
Tries from Greg Whyte and Kevin Birchall, plus a penalty and conversion from Mark McGreal, kept Vagas in it at half-time with the game poised at 17-15 to Port Sunlight.
In the second half, Vagas took the game with tries from Lucas Veradi and James Clarke with McGreal adding another penalty to make the game safe.
Ramsey went down 39-12 away at newly relegated Bowdon but take a lot of positives from a game which was always going to be tricky.
Vice captain Dan Bonwick intercepted in the first minute to put Ramsey 5-0 ahead but Bowdon’s fast backline soon got them back into the game and at half-time the Manchester side led 30-5.
Ramsey put in a better shift in the second half and despite leaking another converted try, Craig Long went over to pull one back and Bonwick converted.
