Two games, two wins each for Vagabonds and Douglas in the EuroManx leagues.
Tries from Ross Pulman, Bryan Kennaugh, Adam Harte and Leigh Kennaugh, along with three conversions from the reliable boot of Jonny Beckley, sealed Vagas a 26-17 win at Hoylake in EuroManx South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Douglas saw off Holmes Chapel 27-20 in Division Three.
A Ryan Maddox try gave them an early lead before Holmes responded impressively to open up a 13-5 lead.
However, just before the break, Richard Forster drove over from the back of a rolling maul and, with Dave Wood adding the conversion, Douglas only trailed by a point at the interval.
It didn’t take long for the home side to regain the lead when Peter Moorhouse dived over at the start of the second half.
That lead was extended through Neil Killey and Wood’s conversion but Holmes Chapel came back once more and only a late Wood penalty with the final play of the match made sure of the points.
