Vagabonds gave their survival hopes a massive boost on Saturday with a 20-15 victory at home to Wirral.
While they were celebrating victory in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One, Douglas went down 17-10 at Southport in Division Two.
Despite a battling performance, tries from Bryn Snellgrove and Sam Randall weren’t enough to take anything from the game.
It was a similar story in Division Four where Ramsey went down to only their second defeat of the campaign, 7-5 at Capenhurst.
Nick McCudden notched the Ramsey try.
In the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield, tries from Marco Santos, Michael Oates and Bryn Griffiths, all converted by Steven Fox-Hulme, sealed a 21-7 victory for Vagabonds B at Castletown, who hit the scoreboard through a Lewis O’Brien try, converted by Sam Peel.
