Manx side dig deep to secure win
The Isle of Man ladies volleyball squad have progressed in the Volleyball England National Shield after a hard-fought victory in the UK.
Facing Manchester Marvels 2, the Manx side went on to take the win by three sets to one on Sunday (4 December).
At the Dean Trust Ardwick in Manchester, the Island side struck first to take the first set 25-21.
Manchester Marvels 2 then hit back in the second to level the scores, edging out the Isle of Man 25-23.
In a close-fought contest, the Isle of Man then got themselves back in front with a narrow 26-24 win, before digging deep in the decisive, final set for a 25-23 success to take the victory overall.
The IoM ladies squad will face York Falcons in the next stage of the competition on Sunday, 8 January.
