Teams produce good performances despite losses
Volleyball Isle of Man are taking the positives after a challenging set of fixtures in the England Volleyball National Cup at the weekend.
The Manx men's and ladies squads travelled to the UK for the first round of the competitions to take part on Saturday and Sunday (24-25 September) respectively.
The men's team were on the end of a narrow 3-2 defeat to a strong Harrogate side.
They battled from being 2-0 down against their Yorkshire opponents to bring it back to 2-2 but lost out in the final deciding set.
Meanwhile, the women's squad faced a tough battle the following day against Everton Narwhals, losing out 3-0 to their opponents from Merseyside.
But it's not the end for the Isle of Man athletes as the men's team will now compete in the National Shield competition in November after their exit from the cup.
