
The Island’s being urged to get behind cycling superstar Mark Cavendish on Sunday evening.
The ‘Manx Missile’ is one of ten sportsmen and women on the shortlist - compiled by a panel of sports editors from national and regional newspapers and magazines - to be named BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
Cavendish, an outsider for the award, won five stages of the Tour de France this year, as well as clinching the sprinters' points jersey at the Tour of Spain.
