Wade claims DTL title

Closely contested competition at Meary Veg

There was drama and closely contested shooting at the Island single barrel DTL Championship at Meary Veg in Santon.

Sponsored by Sadler Agricultural Supplies, 22 competitors took part with Alan Wade (96 points) edging out last year’s champion Marty Kneen (95) to take high gun.

Phil Ward claimed third place on 93, thanks to a 25 straight in his last round.

Neil Parsons was the winner of A class with 92 points.

Dave Corlett was the runaway winner in B class with 89 and Lyn MacLeod claimed the honours with 75 points to win C class.

Jack Kneen and Arran Wade shared the junior prize on 72 points.

Results -H/G 1, A Wade 24+24+25+23=96, 2, M Kneen 25+24+23+23=95, 3, P Ward 21+23+24+25=93.

A Class 1, N Parsons 24+24+23+21=92.

B Class 1, D Corlett 20+24+23+22=89.

C Class 1, L MacLeod 15+19+20+21=75.

Juniors =1, J Kneen 19+17+14+22=72, Arr Wade 20+19+19+14=72, 3, Allana Wade 9+8+15+12=44.

Next week is the fourth round of the Colin Bowen Memorial English Skeet League.
