Twenty-five newcomers riding at MGP

Johnny Stewart was the fastest newcomer during the opening qualifying session of the 2024 Manx Grand Prix

First-timers come from five different countries

There are 25 newcomers competing at this year's Manx Grand Prix.

Dedicated training weekends have been held in advance of the meeting to familiarise them with the course.

Irishman Andrew Murphy, who made his Cookstown 100 debut earlier in the year, says the support has been valuable:

Five countries are represented by this year's newcomers.

There are 19 from the UK, three from the Republic of Ireland, one from France, one from America and one from New Zealand.

David Thomas from California has been impressed by the Isle of Man:

The fastest newcomer during Sunday night's qualifying session was Scotsman Johnny Stewart.

He recorded a lap speed of 105.061mph on his Junior Manx Grand Prix Kawasaki ER-6f.
