Manx rider 'over the moon' with performance in qualifiers

It's been an afternoon of impressive performances in today's qualifiers.

After being thwarted last night by bad weather once again, riders were champing at the bit to get on the road.

Daniel Ingham continued to impress, he topped the Senior MGP session in both laps with a fastest time of 118.607MPH.

Ingham spoke to Carolyn Sells:

In the Classic Superbike it was Michael Dunlop who dominated the leader board in 126.046mph, then Davo Johnson with his second lap time of 125.414mph, and coming in third fastest was Rob Hodson 124.701mph.

Despite putting distance between himself and the rest of the field with the first 126mph lap of the week, Dunlop wasn't entirely happy with his performance:

Next up were the Junior MGP, Lightweight MGP, and Classic Senior Bikes.

In Junior MGP a solid battle played out between newcomer Joe Yeardsley and Victor Lopez, but it was the Manx man Joe who came out on top with a cracking performance, unofficially smashing the Supertwin MGP in a time of 117:373mph:

Beth managed to catch Joe's coach Chris Palmer and Joe in the paddock:

Victor Lopez also beat the previous lap record with his time of 116.629mph and Daniel Ingham made another appearance, this time coming in third in the Junior MGP with a 115.713mph lap speed.

Michael Rees topped the Ultra Lightweight clocking in at 106.191mph, he was being chased by Stephen Tobin who came in second with a time of 105.044mph, and taking the third fastest spot was Steven Moody in a time of 103.333mph.

There was more success for Michael Dunlop in the Lightweight, he topped the leader board in time of 116.535mph but hot on his heels was Ian Lougher in a time of 116:515mph.

And John McGuiness was fastest qualifier for the Senior Classic MGP, he lead the way with a fastest lap time of 110.574mph, Mike Browne came in second in 109.265mph, with Shaun Anderson taking third with 108.105mph. Maria Costello MBE was first woman to finish, coming in 11th overall in a fastest time of 94.67mph, not too far behind was Shelley Pike who came in 15th out of the 21-strong Senior field with a time of 89.883mph.

She said conditions were perfect:
