The WORLD Tin Bath Championship takes place Saturday 7th September in Castletown Harbour. There'll be man powered flying machines, rubber ring snake races and - of course - highly competitive 'bath captains' trying to stay afloat in the historic capital, all while raising money for local charities and bringing endless laughter to the watching crowds.Organisers Cheryl Killey Myers and Boris Kitching told Christy what we can expect, while our own Man In A Tub Lewis 'First Timer' Foster got some hints and tips.

Ruth Cowin and a vintage bike with an important message

A rare bike which won the 1923 Senior TT will be displayed on Sunday in Douglas. It was ridden by Tom Sheard, who was the first Manxman to win a TT race the previous year. Tom's granddaughter lost her son Daniel to bowel cancer shortly after this year's TT races and she has decided to put her grandfather’s bike on display to help raise awareness of the condition.She's been speaking to Manx Radio's William King about Daniel, the bike and her grandfather Tom.NB: The bike will be on display from 10:30am-3pm on Sunday (25th August) at IOM Trike Tours on Castle Mona Avenue in Douglas.

Today they returned to catch up with Christy about their ongoing successes, including winning multiple British Championship titles, TV appearances and brushes with Strictly stars. We are also joined by Jacqui Hamblett from the Isle of Man Dance Teachers Association, who talks about what their achievements mean for the Island, shares news of other award winning Manx ballroom dancers and tells us how to get involved ourselves.

'Limitless' support for Mencap Charity

Our charity for Learning Disabilities Week has been Manx Mencap. Christy chats with Kelly Quaye and Jacquie Dawson about some of the plans organised by the charity to mark the week itself, also the ongoing activities available to service users and families and fundraising; they also chat about Expedition Limitless, a group of adventurous souls who came together with one aim - to raise a staggering £100,000 for Manx Mencap in June 2024! 56 hardy Manxies braved it for Breast Cancer Now at the weekend, taking part in the charity's annual sleepover. Previously taking place on the summit of Snaefell, this time they opted for Peel Castle. The aim of the event is to raise money for vital research into cancers so that by the year 2050 everyone who develops the disease will live and live well. Sadly, the weather was against them! But it didn't put them off. And our Christy stopped by to check in on proceedings (before she went home to her own bed and a warming cup of cocoa... lightweight! Ali Mellor from Gal Skate will be heading to Paris this Summer to represent the Island and skateboarding in general, as a member of the 2024 ROLL Models initiative by Skateistan and Women Win She is one of just 15 chosen to design and deliver skateboarding projects aimed at encouraging gender-diverse youth to get rolling across Europe and she popped in to One2Three to tell Christy all about it.

Of those, around 180,000 rarely leave their homes alone and lead lonely, isolated lives. This year’s Seed Swap & Plant Share will take place on Saturday, April 6th, 2024, from 2-4pm at the Working Men's Institute in Laxey. The event will take place on BOTH FLOORS so it will be both roomy for seed sharing and with tables and chairs to sit down on to enjoy cakes and warm drinks.
