Masterchef Pippa takes on the Professionals

You might remember Pippa Lovell as being the award winning Chef behind foraging restaurant Versa in Port Erin, well, she moved back to the UK earlier this year (not forever though) and will be appearing on BBC 1 TONIGHT at 9pm, in the current series of Masterchef the Professionals. 10 year old Aastha Vakil is a rising star in inspirational music who shares her time between Mumbai, London and the Isle of Man. She has just released a new song and video, which was filmed at Ballakermeen High School with children from Rachel Wild's Performance Studio, titled "Believe in Yourself." The project aims to promote children's mental health awareness and empower children to develop resilience and self-belief. Still very much a tribute to Dan, they continue to support organisations like the Rob Vine Fund but now also have a focus on providing mental health support to riders and their family and friends, during the racing schedule and beyond. Alex Lowe is the comedic talent behind numerous wonderful characters, including popular phone in favourite "Barry from Watford" and risk-taking mystic 'Clinton Baptiste'. The latter, who was brought to life for Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights, is taking to the Gaiety Stage with his new Roller Ghoster show on Weds 9th September. This Summer, Skateistan and Women Win hosted the 2024 ROLL Models Leadership Camp in Paris and Manx skateboarder Ali Mellor was there to represent the Isle of Man.Ali , from Gal Skate, was in attendance along with 20 other women and non-binary social skateboarding leaders, from 10 countries across Europe.The camp aims to create a safe space for skaters to share their stories, make connections, acquire new knowledge and boost their confidence.It's part of an initiative from the Goodpush Alliance which aims to support and share knowledge among social skateboarding projects worldwide.

Ruth Cowin and a vintage bike with an important message

A rare bike which won the 1923 Senior TT will be displayed on Sunday in Douglas. It was ridden by Tom Sheard, who was the first Manxman to win a TT race the previous year. Tom's granddaughter lost her son Daniel to bowel cancer shortly after this year's TT races and she has decided to put her grandfather’s bike on display to help raise awareness of the condition.She's been speaking to Manx Radio's William King about Daniel, the bike and her grandfather Tom.NB: The bike will be on display from 10:30am-3pm on Sunday (25th August) at IOM Trike Tours on Castle Mona Avenue in Douglas.

Today they returned to catch up with Christy about their ongoing successes, including winning multiple British Championship titles, TV appearances and brushes with Strictly stars.
