Manx Care had more than 22,000 referrals for operations over the last 12 months
Manx Care needs to analyse why there's been a 2.2 percent increase in demand for surgery over the last year.
Between June 2023 and May this year there were more than 22,000 referrals for surgical specialties.
The executive director of health services says the health service needs around 4,000 patients on its waiting lists to meet its 52-week target for treatment - it currently has 11,000.
