'Digital by default' survey planned by April
The policy and reform minister says the 2021 census will now go ahead, even if coronavirus returns to the Island.
It was previously announced it could be delayed to 2022.
In Tynwald, Ray Harmer was asked what alternative methods had been considered to ensure the census is completed 'in a timely manner' by April next year.
Mr Harmer said contingency plans are being put in place:
Treasury's 'purple book' budget update said the census was going to be delayed as part of Cabinet Office 'savings'.
In welcoming the reversed decision, Mr Harmer's predecessor, Chris Thomas, pointed out not carrying out the census was estimated to save £267,500:
