Hopes important funds will be raised over coming weeks
The IoM Royal British Legion has launched its Poppy Appeal for 2021 with a breakfast at the Legion in Douglas this morning (30 October).
Over the next few weeks, poppy sellers will be out and about across the Island, hoping to raise much-needed cash to keep the charity afloat.
The Island’s new Lieutenant Governor, Sir John Lorimer is an army veteran himself.
He says it’s not just the visible injuries which need support:
Paper car tax discs cost DOI £7,500 each month
Just over half the vehicles examined were defective
