Allison Fox says there's more to come in 2025
The curator for archaeology for Manx National Heritage says 2024 has been a 'really good year' for the field.
Allison Fox says discoveries made this year 'further add to our understanding of the Isle of Man as an offshore financial centre in the Viking Age'.
Thirty-six silver coins, consisting of 46 separate fragments, were found this summer in a field next to the coast by David O'Hare and John Crowe.
They went on display at the Manx Museum from Wednesday 2 October until 13 October.
Separately, Ms Fox also oversaw the installation of the exhibition 'All at Sea' based at the House of Manannan, which contains several objects rescued from shipwrecks.
She says whilst this year has been a great one, there's more to come in 2025:
