Cost of nursing home provision to go up by almost £60 per week
People in government run nursing homes on the Isle of Man will have to find an extra £60 each week to pay for their care.
Charges for adult social care services are increasing by 5.7 percent.
The price rises will take effect from 15 April.
It means the weekly cost of care in a standard nursing home will increase from £1,048.18 to £1107.96.
The Department of Health and Social Care says the adjustment aligns with a rise in Income Support outlined in this year’s Budget.
It adds the increases aim to ‘achieve financial sustainability while delivering essential community services’.
The DHSC claims it is ‘actively engaging’ with service providers in Manx Care – and its commissioned service providers – to ensure those directly affected have been informed.
