And £8,000 has been spent on travel since January
Manx Care is paying some UK nurses more than £500 a day to provide cover for the Island’s health service.
It’s confirmed the maximum daily rate for an agency worker brought in to help ‘gaps in staffing’ is £506.25.
That figure is based on the hourly rate of £60.75 for a Band 7 ‘more specialised’ nurse and includes the worker’s rate, National Insurance contribution and the agency’s commission.
Manx Care has confirmed it doesn’t pay for accommodation or food for temporary nursing staff but has spent more than £8,000 since January on travel costs.
The information has been released as part of a response to a Freedom of Information request.
