It's 70 years today since the worst air disaster the Island's hills have ever seen.
An American Flying Fortress bomber was en-route to Northern Ireland from a US air base in Essex, when it flew into the side of North Barrule.
There were no survivors and the cause of the tragedy has never been discovered.
A memorial and flagpole has been at the crash site since 1995, where there are still remnants of the incident.
