Ongoing scrutiny for Ballasalla nursing home
An ongoing criminal investigation into the deadly Covid-19 outbreak at Abbotswood is progressing, according to police.
Twenty residents from the Ballasalla nursing home died of the virus, the greatest loss of life on the Island caused by the pandemic.
A team of officers are looking into whether offences were committed, after the case was referred to the constabulary by local firm Expol in June.
No further information can be provided at this stage, but it's understood police intended on 'contacting those directly involved' when the investigation began.
