People looking to relocate to the Island for work are finding it ‘incredibly challenging’ to find suitable accommodation.
That’s the view of Locate Isle of Man – the branch of government tasked with attracting new residents to take up employment opportunities.
It was one of the topics of consideration for this week’s Population Rebalancing Committee.
Andrew Stewart is the head of the division and says it’s the number one challenge:
Government has set out plans to grow the number of economically active people on the Island by 2037.
It’s committed to exploring options to increase the accommodation available for existing residents and those looking to relocate.
The former nurses’ home, on Westmoreland Road in Douglas, is being redeveloped into flats for key workers.
