Regulation changes cuts charity funds
A non-profit service providing help to local gambling addicts says doubt has been cast on its short term future.
GamCare Isle of Man - a part of Motiv8 Addiction Services - was formerly funded by means of a tax on local gaming operators.
But changes in the regulations now mean that money is passed directly to the UK's Gambling Commission - and charities back at home don't see a penny.
The service, which launched in 2011, has since secured independent funding for a further year.
But Motiv8 services director Thea Ozenturk says there's uncertainty beyond that:
Three-month wait for state pension forecast statements
OFT to investigate possible regulation of funeral directors
"One of the Island's foremost champions of Manx heritage" to receive Tynwald Honour
No timeline yet for reinstatement of rehab service to north
Venezuela Fury & Noah Price wedding "a true showcase of the breadth and quality of Manx services"
