Action planned against governor
The Island’s Attorney General is heading back to court – in a battle over disciplinary measures.
Stephen Harding says he has issued proceedings against the Lieutenant Governor in the Manx courts.
Mr Harding was suspended almost three years ago as he faced charges of perjury and committing acts against public justice – he was cleared in February last year after a retrial.
But he remains suspended on full pay and now says he plans to apply for “injunctive relief from unlawful disciplinary proceedings”.
The position of Isle of Man Attorney General is a Crown Appointment rather than a government post - meaning the formal case will be against Adam Wood as governor.
The case is expected to go before the courts in October.
