Negotiations due over handling charges
Passenger watchdog TravelWatch says airlines using Ronaldsway should save money when the baggage handling facility is privatised.
At present, handling staff are direct government employees, part-funded through landing fees charged to the airlines.
The infrastructure department says it will save £1 million a year by privatising the service - a move most airports made years ago.
Airlines are now expected to demand a reduction in charges at Ronaldsway, and use the cash to pay a commercial handling agent.
