But Infrastructure Minister says such a service is 'very unlikely'
Adding a rail or tram service to the airport would give passengers more options if there was an issue with the roads, as well as cutting carbon emissions.
That's from the Director of Ronaldsway Airport Gary Cobb, who's been discussing transport links to and from the facility in response to a question on Manx Radio's Mannin Line.
Mr Cobb previously worked at Inverness Airport, which recently had a railway station added to make it easier for those travelling through the airport.
He told Manx Radio a similar addition here would be beneficial:
However, the Infrastructure Minister says it's very unlikely a rail service will be brought in for airport passengers, but his department is prioritising the bus service instead.
Consultancy firm Systra is currently reviewing the Island's railway services, but Chris Thomas says it's unlikely an airport commuter route will be added in the near future:
