Alfie Cannan has ensured the seat of Michael stayed in the family's hands.
His father David recently stood down after representing the constituency for 29 years.
Alfie Cannan polled 1,014 votes, almost twice the combined total achieved by his challengers.
He gave a stirring speech after the victory was annoucned at the Kirk Michael count, and cut out his own ground in a message to the next government:
