Feedback from people locally and internationally
Feedback on whether terminally ill people on the Isle of Man should be given help to end their lives has been received from people locally and internationally.
A public consultation on assisted dying has now closed – the man behind it is Ramsey MHK Alex Allinson.
He’s told Manx Radio there’s been ‘a lot of interest’ in his Private Members Bill and the consultation forum, which shut on Thursday, has been ‘well used’.
Dr Allinson says it’s an idea still in its infancy despite the fact Tynwald has spoken about it for the last two decades:
