Ramsey MHK lookng to deliver on a promise
A move will be made in the House of Keys this month to reform abortion laws in the Isle of Man.
Ramsey MHK Alex Allinson, a GP in the town, will seek permission to bring in a private members' bill when the Keys sit on 24 January.
Dr Allinson says he's delivering on a promise to update the law and improve access to abortion for Island women.
Although legal, strict rules surround access to abortion here, and currently, more than 100 women seek terminations in the UK each year at their own expense.
Dr Allinson says he's taking the first step towards long-overdue reform:
