Coastal overtopping and flooding expected
An amber weather warning is in place for coastal overtopping.
Strong winds, which could reach gale force, are expected from 9.30pm tonight (21 March) which, coupled with high spring tides, could create large waves.
This is expected to lead to sea water and debris being washed onto exposed coastal roads and promenades at 11.30pm and again at 11.51am tomorrow (Wednesday).
The areas most at risk are Shore Road in Rushen, Castletown Promenade, northern and central parts of Douglas Promenade and Laxey and Ramsey Promenades.
Inner harbour flooding is also expected tomorrow including on the tongue, North Quay and Lake Road in Douglas and on West Quay, Mezaron Corner and Parliament Street in Ramsey.
Flood defences will also be deployed in Castletown.
