Manx Rock Ltd has taken over the running of the facility
There's been an angry response from Bride Commissioners to the proposed charges to be levied on the authority for access to the Northern Civic Amenity Site for the forthcoming contract period.
All northern authorities have been notified by letter from the Department of Infrastructure (DOI) of the contributions they would be expected to make to the running of the facility.
The figure for Bride of £111,020 is around double what Andreas and Lezayre have been quoted and three times more than Jurby, Ballaugh and Maughold.
Manx Rock Limited, headquartered in Ballasalla, has won the tender to operate the Northern Civic Amenity Site at Balladoole.
The DOI says it's satisfied the company offers strong value for money for ratepayers within the northern authorities.
However, in a letter posted to ratepayers on their website Bride Commissioners would, it seems, beg to differ.
They say residents of the village will be paying £111,000 for about 40 people to take bags of twigs to the tip once a week.
The Commissioners are urging ratepayers to let them know their thoughts and contact their MHK.
Manx Radio has approached the DOI and Bride Commissioners for comment.
