KWC team impress judges
A new invention aimed at combating drink driving has propelled a group of Manx students into the semi-finals of a global contest.
The King Williams College team has impressed judges in the Conrad Foundation Spirit of Innovation Challenge, with blueprints for a device which can measure intoxication levels and lock drunk motorists out of their cars.
Satellite firm ManSat regularly sponsors local youngsters to enter the competition.
If their idea progresses to the next stage, Zahra Khan, Hannah Billinghurst, Alice Morris and Christian Thomas will travel to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida for the finals, with a chance to win research and development funding.
